To Powder or Not to Powder?

A friend of mine prompted this blog post today when she asked whether she should use loose powder, pressed powder or none at all.

When it comes to powdering, less is more. Loads of powder can leave the skin looking dry and stale, and will draw more attention to fine lines and wrinkles.

Powder plays an important role, though, in helping your makeup last and look flawless. A light dusting of loose powder, in a skin tone matching shade, should be applied on top of your foundation to set it and to help with oil control.

Pour a small amount into the lid and dip a soft, large brush into the powder. Shake off any excess before swirling it over your face. I recommend this for almost all women, unless you have very dry skin or are going for a dewy beach babe look 🙂

Then keep a pressed powder compact in your purse for quick touch ups while you are out, to minimize shine on your nose, chin and forehead.
